Introduction:
In the early summer of 2023, I embarked on a pilgrimage to Tibet, traveling from Chengdu to Lhasa via the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, one of the highest railway lines in the world.
The Journey:
- Chengdu: The journey began in Chengdu, where I visited the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base and sampled Sichuanese cuisine.
- Qinghai-Tibet Railway: The train journey from Xining to Lhasa offered stunning views of the vast Tibetan plateau, with stops at various high-altitude stations.
- Lhasa: Upon arrival in Lhasa, I visited the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, and explored the Barkhor Street, immersing myself in the spiritual atmosphere of the city.
